In Ontario I book you into Green Island Lodge. Green Island is my personal favorite. This is a Fly In Lodge that is 60 miles north of the US border. The lake is actually 3 lakes that were joined when a dam was built at the southern end many years ago. The now single lake produces the largest musky in the world in my opinion. The last 60 Inch Muskie caught was caught at Green Island in 1989 and released. It graced the cover of Mepps Magazine in 1991, and that fish may still swims in the lake as unlikely as it seems. Currently the lake averages 1.5 Muskies per week over 50 Inches. Guides on the lake have spotted at least 3 Muskies in recent years that could break the 60 inch mark and one has been brought close enough to the boat for the guides to believe that a NEW World Record Muskie may be in the offing for this lake.

Not a Muskie fisherman? Smallmouth, Lake Trout, Pike, and a very small population of Trophy Walleye are also in the lake. The smallmouth fishery is excellent, the Lake Trout are plentiful with the average fish at around 6 pounds. Pike are good, with fish to 30 pounds caught each year, and an average fish weighing around 8 to 10 pounds. Walleye were smuggled into the lake in the late 60's and have gradually taken hold in the lake. The lake record is 15 pounds and a video of that catch is below. There is only one creek in the entire lake with the proper gravel bed for spawning walleye, so the reproduction rate of walleye is small and thus the reason the fish do not seem to be able to generate great numbers of walleye.

The cabins at Green Island are very comfortable and the beds are great. The cooking at Green Island is Superior. I live to go back and feast on the Home Made Bread that Mrs. Korsinski makes. It  is the best I have ever eaten and I beg for some each time I go to Green Island to take home. The last thing you need to do when you go to Green Island is to try to diet. You will not succeed as I have tried. Steak, Pork Chops and local dishes are on the menu.

The lodge has a meeting room and the lodge has WiFi that can be connected to from most of the cabins. There is NO Cell phone service at the lodge. Phone service is Satellite from the lodge. A DVD player and Video are available in the club house / Doctors Lounge. The Doctors Lounge was built by a group of Doctors in the 60's who came up each year and wanted a place to play cards.

When I go on vacation, this is where I go. As a Fishing Entrepreneur, I go to many venues. While all of them have appeal, here is where I feel most comfortable and where I find relaxation from the daily work grind on the internet. The remoteness of the lake, the undisturbed nature of the camp. I love the fact if  I am thirsty I can simply dip a cup of water from the lake and drink it with no fear of pollution or danger. Many years, Ice in the camp is from the lake. Taken during the winter months when the blue ice is at its peak. The Ice in the summer is so clear you can read a newspaper through it. This camp takes groups as small as 2. The camp can take up to 26 people and there is a possibility of fitting in a few more.
